I won't argue with that, it's certainly better then season 2 was. There does seem to be way too much going on, and some things that were dropped way too easily for my liking, especially in the last 2 episodes.
And, you're right. Time travel is cool and all, but when it's used as a plot starter or deus ex machina too many times, it becomes as droll as nothing being able to kill the cheerleader.
